Legacy and Innovation: The Lasick’s Founding of LSI Scales

In the realm of weighing equipment, the mantle of expertise and entrepreneurial spirit has been passed down through generations in my family. This journey began with my grandfather, who established his own scale company, a legacy that my father furthered by working for a leading scale company. Following in their footsteps, I embarked on my career in the weighing industry at the tender age of 15, working alongside my father. Similarly, my wife initiated her career in this field at 18, starting in a scale company where she was responsible for filing and managing the phones.

Our paths crossed in 2009 when I joined the scale company where my future wife, Kim, was employed. This marked the beginning of not only our relationship but also a dynamic professional partnership. Together, we complemented each other’s strengths, with Kim excelling in administrative duties and myself in the service aspect of the business. Our collaboration was seamless, blending the operational and customer service facets of the company.

Motivated by a shared vision and leveraging our combined expertise, Kim and I decided to out on our own, laying the foundation for LSI Scales. This decision was driven by our belief in our capabilities and the robust team dynamics we had developed. Our roles within LSI Scales were clear: I focused on the service side, while Kim managed the administration. This division of labor was underpinned by mutual trust and respect for each other’s responsibilities.

The growth of our business was a testament to our dedication and hard work. Each day was a new opportunity to secure sales, driven by the necessity to support our family and meet our financial obligations. Our reputation, known for strong work ethics and reliability in the industry, became a cornerstone for attracting and retaining customers. My goal was to acquire new business daily, whereas Kim was the linchpin that held our office operations and family life together. Her understanding and support were instrumental in our journey, recognizing the sacrifices needed for our business to flourish.

Our story is more than just a business venture; it’s a narrative of family legacy, partnership, and perseverance in the face of challenges. It underscores the importance of collaboration, trust, and shared goals. As we continue to build on this foundation, our journey is a testament to the strength of combining diverse skills and a unified vision to create a successful enterprise.
